If you’ve scrolled through my website, you would’ve seen a few links to some blogs of professional filmmakers and photographers. One of my main inspirations is Vincent Laforet. Starting out as a professional photographer, Vincent has been published in all of the big name newspapers and magazines.
Through his high quality work and expertise, he is now a Canon Ambassador. He was the first person in the world to film with the 5Dmk2 and now that Canon is stepping into the digital Cinema stage, it was a no brainer that they got Vincent to make the first film with their new toy, the C300.
The result? The most kickass product promo ever… and the product isn’t even shown! I present to you, MOBIUS:
For a film that shows what can be achieved from the new camera, it is simply stunning. But for a price tag of around US$20,000, and that’s before the lenses, it seems to me that it’s very much targeted at the Cinema industry.
So a bit steep for me at the moment.
However, Canon decided to put some icing on the cake by announcing the Concept 4K DSLR.
Which was based off the Prototype 4K Camera from NAB 2011 (I think)
Time for me to save up some pennies…
